Simmons Shines, Hopkins Roars | Missouri Tigers Football News

Austin Simmons is lighting up the SEC—earning Co-SEC Offensive Player of the Week after a dazzling 292-yard, four-touchdown performance against Kansas with zero interceptions. It’s the first time a Missouri QB has snagged this honor since 2025. With over 500 passing yards and seven TDs this season, his chemistry with receivers Cayden Lee and Donovan Olugbode is firing on all cylinders—even as the run game struggles. On defense, Daeden Hopkins is stepping up, earning Co-SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors with tackles and sacks against Kansas. These standout individual efforts are fueling Missouri’s rise in both polls, and they’re primed for a big showdown against Troy this Saturday before diving into SEC play against Mississippi State.
