Simmons Transfers to Missouri as Starter | Missouri Tigers Football News

Austin Simmons, once a breakout star for Ole Miss, is poised for a fresh start as Missouri’s new starting quarterback after transferring from the Rebels. He led Ole Miss early with explosive performances, including a 300-yard, 3-touchdown game, but injuries and competition sidelined his path to the starting role. With Ole Miss’ QB, Trinidad Chambliss, securing his eligibility and leading the team to the College Football Playoff, Simmons sought a new opportunity. Missouri, reeling from losing its own starter, saw Simmons’ SEC experience and proven talent as the perfect fit. Now, Simmons is fully focused on football — even briefly pitching for Ole Miss baseball — and aims to reclaim his starting role and make a major impact in his new SEC home.
