Simon Cowell Out, Kenan Thompson In | Spokane News

Simon Cowell’s out for a few weeks after back surgery, making way for comedy legend Kenan Thompson to fill his judge’s seat in the AGT quarterfinals — joining Mel B, Howie Mandel, and Sofia Vergara as the show gears up for its Sept. 23 finale. This isn’t the first time Simon’s dealt with back issues — he had major surgery after a 2020 e-bike accident — so this is just a routine follow-up. With guest judges like Nikki Glaser and Emma Bunton already on board, expect more familiar faces as the season wraps up.
