Simon Deakin discusses “What next for Brexit?”

from CambridgeJBS · host CambridgeJBS

Simon Deakin, Professor of Law at the University of Cambridge and Director of the Centre for Business Research, discusses the options the UK government now faces in preparing to Brexit from the European Union following the "Leave" vote in the country's referendum. Deakin says Britain does need to belong to a trading block such as the European Economic Area, and that renegotiating 50 new trade deals will be complex and take years. He believes there may be a need for a second referendum and calls for an action plan to be made public. He talks to Boni Sones.
