Simon Parkes Inquest, Rory's Walk, The War Came Home

from Gibraltar Today

The parents of Simon Parkes are calling for an Coroner's Inquest to look into the circumstances surrounding Simon Parkes's death in Gibraltar 37 years ago. Our reporter Ros Astengo and lawyer Daniel Feetham discussed what an inquest could bring to the investigation. This coming Sunday is Rory's Walk, a fundraising event in aid of Brain Tumour Research. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet only 1% of cancer research funding is allocated to brain tumour research. Rory's brother and sister, James and Fabiola Culatto, spoke to us about the walk, which has been held every year since Rory's passing. And, Joe Gingell has written a new book titled "The War Came Home", all about the evacuation of the Gibraltar civilian population and the role played by Gibraltar during World War II. He has collaborated with Clubhouse Gibraltar and his hoping to raise £20,000 for the charity from the proceeds of the book. Both Joe Gingell and Clubhouse's Veena Purswani, told us more. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
