Simple w/ Martian Moves - 17/06/26 - Voices Radio

Oxford’s Simple family continue their monthly show on Voices featuring residents and special guests. This month we welcome Martian Moves co-founder, graphic designer and photographer Interpretr (@luca.burgess) to take the wheel for this month’s show. The London-via-Oxford DJ has been diffusing cosmic frequencies since lockdown days, developing his sound from the high-energy electro and bouncing baile funk of their first parties, to a deeper fusion of spaced-out sonics, explored via his three-part Lyl Radio residency, @_fissures. Tonight’s mix brings an hour of hazy sounds for the dusk hours. Expect to unearth shimmering ambient and downtempo drums, to crackling experimental and warm dub techno, rolling like a waterfall from one bar to the next. A staple of Oxford’s nightlife for the past 27 years, Simple continues to throw parties with some of the best DJs on the global circuit as well as local homegrown talent. They’ve just come to the end of their Spring/Summer season of events which featured Soul Mass Transit System Tim Reaper, Blumitsu, Wookie, Just Jane and many more. They’re quietly curating the next season kicking off in October which will continue to keep them at the forefront of the scene. There’s also a residents takeover the Library pub in Oxford on the 15th August - always a Summer highlight.
