Singer Songwriter And An Expression of Life

This singer songwriter describes music as an aural expression of life. Tightly woven into my life, God gave me this great and constantly compelling gift of music. It’s been my constant companion even through the years when I had no human constant companion. It has also been my reminder that I’m “wonderfully made”. Music brings me great joy, and I want a song in my heart until this heart of mine no longer beats…and forever after that. I hope and pray I’m a singer songwriter forever. A singer songwriter is like a heart surgeon. I’m not a doctor, and I don’t play one on TV or the internet. But being a singer songwriter is sort of like being a heart surgeon. The right kind of song can soften the hardest heart. And just think about that for a second. Something you can’t even see or touch can touch hearts. If that doesn’t prove to you there’s a God who loves us, then you’re in for a hell of a future. And I mean that in the most literal sense of the word, hell. Don’t let your heart be hardened by the lies of this world. If you even begin to feel that happening, try listening to some music. Not just those annoying beats, on the radio, trying to pass themselves off as music. But real music. Try Beethoven or Bach or Haydn. They also gave credit to their Creator for the gift of music. Like in this quote from Haydn: “Never was I so devout as when I composed The Creation. I knelt down each day to pray to God to give me strength for my work.When I was working on The Creation I felt so impregnated with Divine certainty, that before sitting down to the piano, I would quietly and confidently pray to God to grant me the talent that was needed to praise Him worthily.” Those guys knew how to create MUSIC.  In their presence, I’m just a humble singer songwriter.
