Lightly edited for your reading experience as a listener here on Playback: "We want to welcome you to the *audio recording* of the Singing Men of Texas 50th anniversary celebration! It’s hard to believe that fifty years have gone by since Sam Prestidge started with a dream to reach Texas and beyond through the powerful medium of music. Six chapters across our state are now heading into a sixth decade. In addition to Texas, these chapters of Singing Men have engaged in ministry and mission trips across the world, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Eastern and Western Europe and China. Twenty-five years ago, these six chapters combined to present a special anniversary concert at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. In 2018, the six chapters gathered in New York City and sang in Carnegie Hall, and participated in ministry projects throughout six boroughs. The impact of the Singing Men of Texas has been vast, but most of the stories will never be heard or told...much of the impact happens quietly and privately in the pews, as people listen to these men sing and share the love of Jesus. Tens of thousands have heard one or more of these groups all over our state and across the globe, and as part of tonight, we give thanks to our Lord for the vision He gave Sam Prestidge to begin this ministry. I hope you will take a fresh look at the Prestidge Endowment Scholarship Fund, which was born out of the Singing Men of Texas. Each year since 2019, this scholarship has contributed to the training of individuals who have been called to worship ministry and who are attending a Baptist institution. We would love to grow this fund to offer even more scholarships to students each year. Please pray for how you can help!
