Single Serving Slashers Appreciation Month - ”Dr. Giggles”

from Cinema Degeneration · host Cinema Degeneration

October is upon us and we here at Cinema Degeneration thought it was time for another Appreciation Month topic!  We bring to you a celebration of 'Single Serving Slashers', slasher movies that never got a sequel.  There are plenty of chapters in the sagas of Chucky, Jason, and Freddy; however, we wanted to honor those often overlooked slashers that only graced the screen in one thrilling film.  For our 6th episode of colorful killers we drop our first slasher from the 90's with "DR GIGGLES" from 1992.  Directed by Manny Coto and starring the incomparable Larry Drake at the titular Dr. Giggles. This comic book tale disguised as a horror movie is about a madman, who believes he's a doctor, returning to his hometown for a killing spree. This is a favorite of ours here and we're absolutely thrilled to bring you our take on the gigling and one liner spouting killer Dr. Rendell and his exploits of mayhem! Join our hosts Cameron Scott and Tom Komisar of the Grindhouse Pizzeria show as they take a deep dive into this underappreciated thriller that's an all new prescription for terror!   "If you think that's bad, wait until you get my bill."
