Ryan Coogler's breathtaking genre film, Sinners (2025), has taken the audience by storm! Coogler reunites with Michael B. Jordan as the Smoke Stack twins and invites us into one of the most culturally unique places and times in American history, the Mississippi Delta. Miles Caton as Preacher Boy is an absolute breakout performance, plus the always amazing Delroy Lindo as Delta Slim, Hailee Steinfeld, Omar Benson Miller, and the powerful Wunmi Mosaku all come together to give the richest character development I've seenthat sets the stage for horror, blues, and history to form a Faustian bargain of sorts to create one of the most unique films in recent history.Sinners is truly a MUST SEE film on the biggest screen possible, preferably IMAX, as Coogler shot the film on an I-MAX camera and can large in part thank Christopher Nolan and a conversation they had prior to filming. Sinners is truly a unique genre film, garnering a lot of comparisons to From Dusk Till Dawn but absolutely carving its own path and diverging half-way through to become a potential masterpiece.
