Additionally, she has been an independent practicing Student of the 'I AM' under the direction of the Saint Germain Foundation and the Great Ascended Masters for more than thirty years. Known as the "Inspirational Mountain Mama," Joy's Professional Storytelling, Speaking and Workshop Venues have included: Smithsonian Institute, National Negro Women's Council, Museum of Science & Industry, Chicago Public Libraries, DuSable Museum African Festival, Columbia College, Chicago Public Schools, Chicago World Music Day, CAN Television and other restaurants, churches, etc. Additionally, Joy has served on numerous corporate and civic boards. As a Cook County Commissioner, she set and administered an eight-hundred-million-dollar budget and protected the drinking water for five million people in Chicago and 114 surrounding communities. Also, a former business owner, Sista' Joy has served as a keynote speaker, facilitated workshops, taught college students, written for a Fortune 500 Company, produced and hosted cable television show.
