Sisterhood - Black Girl Magic

The selection of Senator Kamala Harris, (D- CA) as former Vice President Joe Biden’s running mate not only made history as the first African-American woman on a major party presidential ticket but also the first time a Historical Black College or University will be represented if elected in the White House.  Senator Harris’ mixed race and strong legal background makes her a formidable choice to ignite the most loyal voting base of the democratic party and represents the majority of the voting population across the nation. Women are 51 percent of the population and 60 percent of the voting population of the democratic party. So the question is, will Senator Harris deliver the votes Democrats will need to overcome a wounded incumbent that has a 92 percent approval rating among republicans and holds a favorable lead on the economy even with 50 million Americans out of work. Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) and their participation as a whole in the 2020 Elections will be key and crucial to the potential victory of the Biden/Harris ticket. So, will a mixed-race African-American Southeast Asian woman, an HBCU graduate, a former State Attorney General, and current U.S. Senator, complete a cycle for victory that will bring the first woman and African-American woman to the White House?
