But narrowly thinking of inclusion in this way risks a type of assimilation that asks marginalised groups of humans to get in line and conform with dominant culture if they are to be seen and heard. Instead, inclusion requires courage to go much further by creating countercultures that disrupt the status quo of injustice and refuse to ask industry to "let us in". Sisu's mission of inclusion builds alternatives scenes, systems and spaces for those who refuse to fit into already carved out shapes that weren't made for us in the first place.
