SITB 209 feat. Masteria (DJ/Producer)

from Sherm In The Booth · host Sherm In The Booth

I hope everyone is having an amazing kickoff to their summer and are excited about this interview! Episode 209 features bass house superstar Masteria and wow is this an incredible episode. ❤️‍🔥 I've been a fan of Masteria for years and I'm truly honored to have him in the booth. 🤩 In 209 we discussed: •Journey Into Dance Music: Born and raised in Ann Arbor Michigan, Masteria always had a passion for music. Growing up, he loved rap and rock until he went all in on hard rock, punk and metal. It wasn't long until he was exposed to electronic music and fell in love with the parallels of feeling that it created compared to hard rock. He cannonballed in and became a hermit for a year working on his craft until he released his first track in 2018. Masteria was born! 🙌🏻 •Discography: We had such a blast running through not only some of his biggest hits, but also some of his most unique tracks that helped make him so well-known for his creativity in dance music. Masteria has a VERY impressive catalogue and has released on labels like Musical Freedom, Insomniac, Dim Mak, and Bite This! - we went deep on the story behind the "Groove" EP on Confession, "Long Time" off the Confession x Night Bass compilation, "Everything" on IN/Rotation, and his unexpectedly massive remix of Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy".  🔥 •Navigating The Industry: Masteria started off as a bedroom producer and now finds himself on tours with Tchami and AC Slater, at festivals like EDC Las Vegas, and performing headline slots nationwide. This does not happen overnight and we discussed some of the key moments that have brought him to this point. We talked self-releases vs. labels, social media, staying creative, relationships and networking, and so much more. Get your pen and paper out, because class is in session! 📝 We had so much fun chopping it up and sharing stories from our lives inside and outside the music industry. He's a really genuine and talented guy and deserves so much credit for the years of hard work he's put in. 💪 If there's one thing I learned from this interivew, it's that Masteria is just getting started!! 😈
