"Six Degrees of Gratitude" — a message by Rev. Barbara Prose

from All Souls Unitarian Church · host All Souls Unitarian Church, Tulsa, Oklahoma

This message was delivered on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma by Rev. Barbara Prose Description: "One expression I will take with me when I leave All Souls is 'I appreciate you.' It's one of the ways I've learned to say thank you here. Those words express that what someone just did or said—or simply who they are—makes a difference in my life and in the life of the church. Now, if I were to try to thank each and every one of you individually, our Sunday service would last all weekend and still be incomplete. Much as author AJ Jacobs discovered when he tried to thank every person involved with his morning cup of coffee, I've discovered that each and every act of generosity, kindness, and service, is linked to at least 1000 other acts of service, kindness and generosity. So I need your help. And am inviting you to attend church this Sunday, so you can thank people too – and be thanked yourself!"
