Six of Cups
from Every Day Tarot · host Camille A. Saunders
Six of CupsWelcome to season 9 of this podcast, where I am talking all about the Suit of Cups. I’ll be going through each card in the suit, one per episode. What we explore in this episode:The Six of Cups as a return to innocence, tenderness, and emotional restorationSymbolism across decks: flowers, memories, gratitude, and soulful recollectionHow nostalgia can serve as both a doorway to healing and a trap of avoidanceThe inner child’s longing to be remembered, nurtured, and reconnected withPictures from the decks I talked about today referenced from left to right:Ophidia Rosa Tarot deck by Leila & OliveTherapists Who Tarot Deck, Prompts by Dreya Blume and Images by Rebecca BloomThe Sasuraibito Tarot deck by Stasia BurringtonIn this episode, the Six of Cups brings us into soft, sacred terrain: memory, gratitude, and the sacredness of feeling. It reminds us of the beauty we’ve known before, and encourages us to reach for it again, not as an escape, but as an anchor. Nostalgia, when grounded, can be a balm. It can guide us toward rituals, environments, or relationships that bring us back to ourselves. But this card also challenges us not to romanticize the past to the point of avoidance. We’re asked to reclaim what was sweet without bypassing the full truth of what was. The Six of Cups is both a comfort and a mirror: What did you need then that you still need now? And how can you offer that to yourself with compassion? If you haven't listened to my other seasons yet, go check them out!Season 1 - Tarot basicsSeasons 2 & 3 - Major Arcana and 4 suitsSeason 4 - Tarot in Pop CultureSeason 5 - Tarot SpreadsSeason 6 - Suit of WandsSeason 7 - Suit of PentaclesSeason 8 - Suit of SwordsToday's Tarot Pull:From The Citadel: A Fantasy Oracle by Fen Inkwright, I pulled The Guide (reversed). Can you trust that your past self gave you enough to start again?Reflective prompts on this card:What memories make you feel safe, soft, or seen?In what ways can you reconnect with your inner child? What do your past behaviors reveal about what you were trying to preserve or protect?Ways to Connect & SupportPatreon: For monthly hangouts, tarot Q&As, individual readings, and behind-the-scenes peeks, join the Every Day Tarot Patreon family.Newsletter: Get my FREE 2025 5-Card Tarot Spread PDF + weekly musings, event invites, and magic straight to your inbox.Let’s Talk Tarot Meetup: If you’re Local to the Greater Puget Sound area check out the Let’s Talk Tarot Meetup group for the latest event postings.
