Hello everybody, good morning. So today is day four, today is Monday. This is the part four of the series, 60 ways I benefited from doing my podcast. It started when I was 60, so let's get into the part four of the series.
Today I'm going to cover 10 more benefits. Okay, all right. Number one, it gave me an opportunity to share my wisdom from summarizing an online course which I did from Coursera.org and the name of the course was Science of Bellbeam. The second one is, it helped me give permission to distill the contents of my learning from the about Science of Bellbeam class that I took to an acronym.
I said, okay, for my podcast listeners, how can I help them by sharing my wisdom so that they too can benefit, right? So I just made an acronym, Egg Stem. Easy to remember, because Egg doesn't have a stem, it's funny. And anything that is funny or highly emotional, either way, is too happy to say it, you will remember.
So, E stands for exercise, G stands for giving, you can put giving with gratitude, you know, all that stuff. And another second G stands for growth mindset, S stands for social connection, T stands for time affluence, E, enjoy every moment, sever, and M stands for meditation. So what I started doing is I started creating a mental model. I would live, I would start thinking, did I exercise, did I give, did I give my time or money or effort, you know, that type of thing.
Growth mindset, am I having a fixed mindset and dealing with this issue or am I trying to do something new and creating, you know, starting developing a growth mindset muscle. So I used to ask all these questions and in my episodes, if you have been listening, go back to my episodes and then when you listen, you will see what I'm talking about. So that's number two. Number two is as expressed and encouraged by my listeners, I would like you to listen to my episode four, which is 21 days of exploring your magnificent well-being, magnificent self and, yeah, self and acronym, X-TEM, introduced.
It's episode four. So what I was able to talk about X-TEM model in that episode, because I got encouraged by my listeners and that's how I benefited to talk about it. Number four, I realized for my listeners, this is now I'm referring to episode 12, 21 days of exploring your magnificent self, X-TEM, every day I expanded one, one letter, e, exercise, g giving. So this day 12 is about exercise, exercise, explored and explained.
Okay, so I realized that from the listeners, okay, as I've covered in the episode, that I'm able to help listeners wonder about some of the abstract and obscure concepts and create mindset shifts. If you listen to the episode, you know what I'm talking about, like infinite intelligence, creating, you know, having an appointment with your own self, exercising. So some of the abstract concepts I've explained to them and I've introduced that letter e, exercise, from that acronym. So I felt, the benefit that I got was I was able to help them, help them wonder, help them wonder and create mindset shifts.
Number five, I felt good, important and as a contributor to help listeners give importance to e, exercise. By sharing my own evolution from not exercising at all, okay, to having a systematic exercising schedule and keeping up with it. Number six, once I boldly announced my acronym X-TEM and how it was meaningful to my well-being, I was motivated to create episodes explaining each letter. I was motivated to do that, how it helped me and how it can help others.
I probably might cover that in my next 10 benefits, okay, each of them. Number seven, I started becoming conscious of integrating new types of exercises in some form or the other to my routine. Like I would add strength exercises, upper body, lower body, stretching. So when I was going to gym, it was different, you know, so earlier I was going to gym pre, COVID pre lockdown.
gym was my major way of exercise. That's where I would go and exercise. That's where I would do some machines, I would do elliptical and all that stuff. But the Slobdown and also the podcast, you know, creating episodes and also doing this science of helping courses, all these things later, you see.
It put me to a new way of doing exercise because necessarily the mother of invention, I couldn't go to gym. So I did Heather Roberts on 12 week homework or program, which was fantastic, which was fantastic. It had overall body workout and beautifully designed, wonderful background music, wonderful way of, you know, you can just do the exercise with her and you will feel as though she's giving you a personal one-on-one. That's what I felt.
Number eight, I was motivated by discussion on insights from the listeners because listeners would share the insights to each episode. So I was motivated by those discussions and the teachings from the science of helping course. I added three miles of walking with my husband to my schedule. And that was a truly a blessing.
It was like husband and wife time, walking, time, physical relationship. So I thought that was great. Number nine, giving time to my audience and creating episodes that was valuable to them. And that was that I added to my acronym, you know, the letter G I said, giving basket.
And that giving basket originally was consisting more of giving when I said giving means that we monetary charitable contributions to some organization. So now this G of the acronym, X 10, which is giving part, that giving basket. Now I started putting in the basket, giving time also. So I started, you know, becoming conscious that I am a giver of time and I am a giver of money without expecting anything in return.
And when you become conscious of that, you feel very good. You feel very good. Whatever, whatever, whatever the feel good hormones, I don't know these are certain in oxytocin. Whatever it is, all the feel good hormones, I could just feel that enough feel very fulfilled and abundant.
So without expecting anything in return, that's the key. Those are the key words. But I reap the reward of acquiring a new skill, which is podcasting. Last tenth one, I started valuing my time, not in a time deprived or time-reached way.
Oh, time is money, which I used to say I still say that. But doing this podcast episodes, I did not start valuing time. I started valuing time, but not in a time deprived or a time-reached way. As you would do in corporate America or as a profit-oriented, profit-only oriented business owner, right?
You know, I am making profit, that type of thing. But in a time affluent way, that's what the T in extent stands for, time affluent. So what does that mean? So now as I am even talking to you, doing this episode, I feel very time affluent.
I don't feel rushed. I feel that I am there for you. I am there for you. You cannot see me.
You can hear me. And when I am doing that, I am learning. I am learning so many things. I am building my curiosity muscle.
I am really enjoying. I am feeling that I can internalize my feeling as a contributor to your wellness, to your magnificence. It's a wonderful feeling to have. Try it.
Okay, so that shift in itself was contributing to adding to my personal energy. Does that make sense? You guys, you grow old, you start feeling depletion of energy. But then when I added this new skill of podcasting, there is so much to learn, there is so much to...
But now, there is so much, it's not with any pressure. It's just like I am doing it because I want to learn and I want to develop my skill. And one skill leads to another skill, you know, precision effect. So I feel really time affluent.
With that said, I want to end today's episode with a great wish for you. Happy great week ahead. Enjoy your entire week and have a fantastic day. Bye-bye for now.
