Skim Off The Top

from A&B Podcast · host A&Bpodcast

This week on the A&B Podcast we get to vibe out with uprising professional skim boarder Ellen Woods. Ellen is a former classmate of Bryce and Stair so they’ve a lot to catch up on. Bryce recently had a loss in the family and we send our condolences to him and his family. We take a playful look at our top 5 beaches. Ellen teaches us about some hidden spots she’s visited throughout her life. With the recent protest against police brutality we dive into to face the elephant in the room and talk about race. Ellen shares about a time when she recognized the plight people of color face on a daily basis by sharing a story from her time attending college in the south. Bryce divulges on how he feels the protest is going and his hope for change. Ellen speaks on the struggles of being in an interracial relationship and how she faces a whole other level of ignorance on a global level. After some technical difficulties we get to hear about Ellen’s athletic background as well as her carving out a lane for professional women’s Skim boarding. With Skim boarding not receiving the same national attention as surfing, Ellen speaks on the need for sponsorship and how big the sport could be. We had Ellen call in from Mexico to make this great episode happen.  This weeks “Stairs to Greatness,” is from Martin Luther king. Merch coming soon, keep an eye out!  As we always say come for the convo leave with the gems. As always "its just a conversation" This week we also cover: • Stair pays Ellen a compliment on her short track career • Protest shoutout • Be on the look out for Ellen’s animations • Free diving 411 Follow us: @Youngtamarack @Dr_Dowork @ellen_woods Outro: Joey - O Link:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCY0qEliDEQ&feature=youtu.be
