Skubal Returns to Detroit on the Mound | Detroit Tigers News

Tigers face Dodgers in a loaded showdown as former ace Tarik Skubal returns to Detroit on the mound—his first game back since being traded in August. Manager A.J. Hinch insists the team will respect Skubal’s past while focusing on shutting him down, highlighting his strong recent performance with LA (3.38 ERA, 30 Ks) after a stellar Detroit run (2.79 ERA, 116 Ks). Skubal, drafted in 2018 and a two-time Cy Young winner, is set to become a free agent this offseason, adding urgency to his final season. Meanwhile, the Tigers are in a slump—losing 8 of 10 games—and sit 4.5 games behind the Wild Card race. This emotional, high-stakes series could define both players’ legacies.
