Skyclarys drug approved for reimbursement - 25/08/26

Brian gets multiple reactions to the news that the Skyclarys drug has been approved for reimbursement by the HSE senior management team to help those with Friedreich’s Ataxia. Firstly he talks to Jennifer Marnane O’Connor - Minister of State at the Department of Health has welcomed news that the Skyclarys drug has been approved for reimbursement by the HSE senior management team today. “I want to acknowledge the Friedreich’s Ataxia patients and their families for their advocacy and I know that today’s decision will mean so much to them. I have been privileged to meet them on several occasions, including Emily Felix and Oisin Pollard from our area and I am thinking of them today.  I want to acknowledge the work of the HSE in progressing this application and my colleague Minister for Health Jennifer Carroll MacNeill. I hope that today’s decision brings hope to those living with Friedreich’s Ataxia and their families.” Next is Elaine Pollard .
