Skymet’s Monsoon Forecast 2025: Part 2 of 2 (Special Edition)

In Part 2 of this special episode, Air Vice Marshal GP Sharma and Mahesh Palawat take the monsoon forecast a step further with region-wise and month-wise rainfall distribution across India for the Southwest Monsoon 2025.Between June 1 and September 30, India is expected to receive 3% more rainfall than normal. While the long-period average is 868.6 mm, this year’s seasonal rainfall could reach around 895 mm. June may witness 4% below-normal rainfall, followed by a recovery in July with 2% above-normal rains. August could bring the strongest surge with 8% excess rainfall, while September may close with 4% more than usual.The western coast and central India are likely to receive above-normal rainfall, whereas the northeastern states, Jammu & Kashmir, and other hilly regions may see a shortfall.
