If you have trouble sleeping you won’t want to miss this episode. Our guest this week is the absolutely brilliant Sarah Wilde an insomnia coach and Cognitive Behavioural Therapist for Insomnia (CBTi). This method is a way to reset your sleep with no supplements, pills or sprays needed and now Sarah uses this to form the foundation of her Meno-insomnia® Method coaching programme which can teach you how to get a good night's sleep so that you wake up feeling like YOU again.Often, sleep problems are one of the first symptoms women experience in peri menopause, with 40 to 60% of menopausal women experiencing sleep issues. So, Sarah went back to basics and looked at the science and research which confirmed what she knew from experience- that CBTi had been proven to be a natural solution for perimenopausal & post-menopausal people with insomnia.Sarah says that she can ‘help women sleep better naturally so that they can have the energy to do what they want.’ In this interview Sarah explains the positives of sleep drive and our Circadian rhythm and how having good sleep hygiene can be a positive until the rituals and habits stop working. We discuss the physiology of how Menopause affects out sleep, why does our body temperature make a difference? She gives you some great tips on how to aid better sleep, whether your sleep is broken, or you have trouble getting off to sleep. You can watch the full unedited interview on our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFgmHLcdx28eco-XlkWYwUA The gender health gap comes into the conversation this week and not just with our brilliant book club book, Jinty discusses the severe and damaging short comings from the first peered review paper written by expert doctors and scientists who treat chronic urinary tract infections how the medical profession is failing around 1.7 million patients. In the Book Collective we continue with Sarah Graham’s Rebel Bodies, in chapter 2 the gaping gender health gap around menstrual and hormonal health throws up some shocking research. We have a new WI from one of our listeners, but did Lou manage to complete the last one? There’s a great quote from Lou and all our usual shenanigans and cock-ups, so make sure you put the kettle on and settle in for this hour (ish) of fun and meaningful chat. If you’ve enjoyed our Podcast please consider buying us a Ko-Fi.
