Sleepy Bus Tour

from News For Kids · host ICRT

Oh, excuse me! Do you ever feel sleepy during the day, but then not sleepy that night? Actually, a lot of people have that problem! Do you also ever feel sleepy when sitting on the bus or the train? Guess what? A lot of people feel like that too! You must have seen many people fall fast asleep on their way to school, or work, or on the way home when riding public transport. Well, in Hong Kong, a company that does bus tours decided to give these people what they want. They started a new tour. A five-hour bus ride that just… drives around. Passengers buy tickets to this tour… to get some sleep! That's pretty weird! The tour bus also gives passengers an eye mask and ear plugs! Some passengers even bring their own blanket, pillow, and slippers! If you really can't sleep, maybe a long sleepy bus tour could help you. But I still think I'd prefer getting a good night's sleep in my own comfortable bed! ________________________________ Vocabulary 搭乘這種巴士哪裡也不去,只在車上睡覺。 1. This Impact Studios production is a collaboration with the Governor family, UTS Faculty of Law and Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research. The Last Outlaws teamKatherine Biber - UTS Law Professor and Chief InvestigatorAunty Loretta Parsley - Great-granddaughter of Jimmy Governor and the Governor Family Historian Leroy Parsons - Governor descendant, Narrator and Co-WriterKaitlyn Sawrey - Host, Writer and Senior ProducerFrank Lopez - Writer, Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
