Good morning ladies and gentlemen and welcome to another SLG meetup today I'm super thrilled about our guest because who hasn't dreamed as a child to be flying well for that We're gonna have the founder of Zapata his name is Frankie Zapata where they are changing the way that human mobility is today How you doing Frankie? I'm very very good. Oh my god finally we made it so happy to have you here today Thank you very happy to be there. Oh wow, you know usually the only way I see you is flying in all these products that you're building And I'm just so fascinated that today we can see the wow the back end of where things happen Yeah, wow this is a jet racer, right?
This is a jet racer. Yes, it's a It's a flying car by that jet engines So he's like next level right there I mean tell us a little bit about yourself because I was just making like re-control how you are the founder of Zapata where you are changing the future of human mobility Through jet of water power first. That's one of the products that you have right there But that's a little bit about it. I found this company in 2008 The go after company at the beginning was to was to produce a jet ski resting jet ski because he's always taught my my life I'd be being a jet ski racer.
So it doesn't hate I found the company to create jet ski and then in 2012 with the flyboard The water one the one is connected to the jet As some of you already seen on some of each you know connected to just give you the water goes out So is what I did first and then I get a crazy idea of removing the hose, you know and be able to fly all over the planet So it's boy I get the idea of the flyboard air and I did it Just if we just fly you know in the best case You know and and I try to have something that's flying like the water for like zero to 30 kilometers per hour I never imagined to be honest with you that one day I would be able to beat the formula What would you say that that was your inspiration in order to get everything to where it is today? Operations come from all my patients all from all the movie I watch from also everything I did in my life You know we are doing sport and extreme sports, you know So so I get inspiration from that and and now I'm I have an amazing thing around me You know to help me develop projects, etc And we are passionate we I said that we have give the fact that we are the beginning of something it's something like we never expect So so it's a it's a really best part of my life My biggest question for you will be what does it take for someone like let's say myself to fly that To fly the jet racer it would be the goal was like everybody when they look at me flying with the flyboard Okay, I try I can see that people want to fly, you know and to fly this one It would take you just like 10 to 20 minutes training on our simulators and that's it wow Clemmates as power and do some bow and wall but by pushing a switch But the flyboard air is a completely different story the flyboard air you have to provide to stress directly with your finger to the machine And it's extremely hard is we cry about like hundred to hundred hours But the problem during this time you will fall plenty time and and maybe the first time you fall It'll be the last one so that's the reason why we it's not a problem we plan to send the flyboard There is something that I build and I design because all my experience I already achieved in the class will this be a product that will be offered to the audience the plan is not to sell it Even if you have the right to do it because it's not really regulated It's under the path of one of three in another state that we try to rule so every can fly without being a pilot But our plan is not to sell it is to operate it on new hybrid is a little bit different the we have two main Program around it as to be able to travel like visit the Grand Canyon visit the the the the Statue of fly over the fly over I don't know Chicago or you know Lake Michigan or Colorado or the all the amazing place in the United States when we're gonna see you here In Miami, I don't know but we will be in the United States in January Yeah, and about 70 people we have the chance to fly that you know 70 people in the world So we already we have about like 10,000 people that already register and we pick up only pick up only 25 plus plus 15 major and and 10 people from them from the From the fly I invite you to fly in January and to We were my question to you will be what's been the hardest part from being doing all this? I said you know regarding the how do you piloted or you fly? On the pilot side as really not difficult It's extremely easy the others was to make a really redundant flameness in some thing like flying is not easy But it's not the hardest stay in the air is up Stay in the air on any case because you can't be good You cannot be good you must be excellent or if you're not excellent on your research and development then the gravity will go we win You know to curse about like let's say Two three months to invent the concept of the the flying platform back in 2017 and it took us a four years Four years to five years to be able to be safe enough to fly I mean this conversation is leading to more questions Which obviously I'm not gonna ask you because they will take us wherever that are curious to learn more about all your products And everything that I tell work on the find information so Pata the calm or work that they go Yes, I thought I'd come we are we are on the way to redesign a little bit of philosophy is more to show what we are doing and not Too much talking about what we plan to do you know because it's easy to say like I would do that I can fly this distance.
I have this mission the best is like Just do it just and that was my philosophy when I was a Jesse racer Remember everybody talking about how the just you were all fast was a jet ski all strong They are what does it we need a pass nobody care the most important thing is start first or at least pass the finish finish line The first, you know, and then you know just do it. So that's the philosophy. I'm sports I'm born in sports, you know, and I'm some are cayenne and I Sportsman so I really want to apply that in my team and to be honest with you I run and manage my team also as a kind of a racing team, you know, everybody looking at the same directions one goal one mission You know, so that's how it's very different. Obviously you are you're a racer at the end of the day and you go Yeah, you know in my DNA.
I'm a racer You know and when I'm a sportsman I'm a racer and that will be for the rest of my life, you know and and every time my patients or everything I would do in my life Everything always would bring me back in the in the things, you know because it's sometimes, you know people are born for something I'm born to race, you know, so so on any kind of machine exists in the planet So so for me to have the chance, you know to race against a formula who was was one of the best I did not expect to beat and you know to be honest on the training I went very slow and I was very fast and I was like wow It took me like about like finish like me 20 seconds before me So I start to learn the curves and say okay And then I get old and I fly at one point in spa I have to go between trees, you know, but they cut the trees they cut the trees to the ground You know to the street because you must have in our space for the car But the trees on the top was this shape, you know, so it was very little space, you know I'm 20 to die so like one meters on my left one Is on my right or the curb pass over a hundred and seventy kilometers hours that means so that's what that's what's tight That's what's that's what I like it's good as I'm not an Adriene Jenke But I like it anyway I think we both can understand a little bit of that I will speak outside of the life because I also love these kind of things We'll definitely make something here in Miami for the formula one or for any type of experience that we can provide because I believe that You know, there's so many opportunities to really showcase what you're doing in such a fun way So what I can say is congratulations to keep on doing what you're doing And I always ask this question and I'm very curious to know what it is for you. What is luxury to you? Luxury luxury is the for me. I have a different way looks so even many people in the world But for me, it looks very as the same as a same world as freedom, you know, for me You know, you have the chance to have the chance to do whatever you love every morning you wake up This is for me.
Sorry. I love that. Thank you for sharing that now before we wrap this up because I know you're busy And you are like changing the world so before we write what you're about that you what's something you've learned throughout your career that You can share with us and be like wow, this was it Something like, you know, never give up, you know, it's the sometimes you you fight you fight nothing happens And and I found that if you if you fight extremely hard and and you believe in what you are doing and believe in yourself Every time happens, you know, because even if you if all the planets are not aligned a million times If you throw your chance and try One day the planet will be aligned so so so if I have something to say to people is never give up believe in yourself Believe in your dreams and if it works for me, it works for for everybody wants to watch it is You know, I'm a dreamer. I'm a passionate guy.
I left school when I was 15 years old So, you know, it wasn't green at the beginning or it wasn't green at day one and and and if you if you love what you're doing and if you You know, I See for me the if I want to say one thing to kids, you know to people that that's passionate about Anything in the world, you know, then the real talent in this world is you want things? Stronger than yours is this is a real talent, you know, everybody else almost the same everybody almost the same brain or more The same hand and and leg but if you want things 10 times stronger than yours is then you will you will be ahead of them And I talk with my own experience, you know, as I said, that let's cool when I was teaching I was really bad at school not because I didn't like it I was bad at school because I wasn't good at all, you know, and but I was a dreamer I did it myself more than everybody and and and take my chance a million enough times and and I success Well, it worked out definitely I can see that and I really appreciate you sharing that because it's such a you know Shot of inspiration for all of us to hear you say that and to definitely never give up. I'm fierce your dream So thank you again Frankie for everything for those watching please make sure to follow Frankie and what he's doing with his company Sabata you've been amazing. I feel super inspired I mean, we just need more people like you in this world that definitely make the dreams go true in such a wild way So keep on doing what you're doing if we can support you in any capacity.
We're here for that and of course you see in January Yeah, thank you so much and see you in January. So I would be I'm looking forward to you. I'm you in this beast Can't wait. All right.
Thank you Frankie. Thank you for your team man. Thank you all for watching And thanks again for everybody tuning in today. We hope you enjoyed it I remember embrace it's beautiful success in life.
