Welcome to another episode of our serious SLD meetups by Super Luxury group, where we connect with some of the most interesting players in the Luxury Market. My name is Alvaro, and today we'll be having with us Talia. She is a real estate agent at the Serhan team, and host of 3 in a million show. We'll be talking about her impact in real estate through the new way of selling and promoting real estate in New York with Digital Media.

Talia is also going to be talking about the importance of building a strong team and working with people that inspire you every day. In this case, like Ryan Serhan, while also growing your brand. I hope you enjoy it. Talia, what's happening?

Hi! Good, how are you? Look at that, Talia, how was Talum? I know, my face looks so big there.

I should be back further. Oh, no, you're great, you're great. So you're back in New York, right? I'm back in New York.

Yes. There we go. How was Talum? Oh, my gosh, it was amazing.

I tried to go every year. I think I mentioned that to you, but I went a little bit earlier this year, and it was nice. I feel like I usually go in January, February, and it's usually a little more busy, like with people from New York going to get out of the cold, so it was so nice. It was a really nice getaway.

I love it, because I was making a quick intro about yourself, because you are doing real estate with the Serhan team, which by the way, we're getting to the end of the year. I'm very curious to know how you end up getting into real estate, and now also to the media production. Yeah, so I got into real estate about six years ago. I moved to New York now for 14 years, and I was in the hospitality industry, and I was in a fashion public relations.

And then I got into real estate, like I met someone who was like, you'd be great. You should get your own business. So I got my real estate license, and I was working at a smaller boutique company, and someone was like, you should work for one of those guys on like a million dollar listing show. And I was like, oh my gosh, I love to do that.

And I was like, of course my favorite person's Ryan, and I just know that he's a hard worker, and you know, he has a great team. And so I met Ryan four years ago, and I joined the Serhan team, and so I've been working with Ryan for four years. I was like two weeks ago, which is crazy, time flies. And so I was doing flies.

I'm like, how have I been? How many years have you been with me? I'm like four, Ryan, you should be counting down the days because I'm that great. But yeah, so yeah, I've just been doing really well.

I work really hard, and Ryan is a great mentor, and he's a very hard worker. And so yeah, so I've been doing that with him, and I work in Manhattan, Brooklyn, which I think has helped me a lot because I've plugged and applied to different clients in different locations. And so about a year ago, he had this idea of starting this. I mean, obviously for him, it was probably way longer than a year ago, but he came to me and was saying that they wanted to start this media group, and they wanted to do a show on the YouTube channel.

And I thought YouTube, like, is that cool? And that's the next thing? Like YouTube's great. People have shows on YouTube, and I was like, okay, cool.

And you know, your social media is good. And you know, you just have an energy on camera. Would you want to do one of the shows? And I was like, okay, yeah, let's do it.

Yeah, so we started filming last like January, and yeah, my show's $3 million, and we take pre-contestants into a luxury property and they walk around for 15 minutes, and then they guess the price of the listing. And these are people who don't really have real estate experience, so it's nice to see their reactions and see things that for me, seeing every day is not a big deal, like an elevator that opens into an apartment. And like floor-to-ceiling windows, electric shades, there's a swimming pool that's private for one of the apartments, and people just go crazy. Oh my gosh, this is like normal everyday New York real estate, so it's really cool to see their reactions.

I think it's a great show, Talia. I love it. And the reaction is very fun and engaging. What you guys are doing is really amazing because I think that's the direction that real estate is going.

It's about the engagement, about bringing that media exposure in a different way. So traditional real estate is kind of phasing out, and the company is like, you're just taking over when it comes to all the media and exposure. So very cool, I'm a big fan of your eyes. Oh, thank you.

I'm so smart. I mean, as you know, you watch your vlogs, like you've ahead of the game, he knows the next wave of what's going to be happening and what's going to be doing well. So, you're talking about Ryan, and I think that that's the question that I also have to myself. When you work with somebody like Ryan, you know, has so much exposure, has that so well for himself.

Now you guys are, you know, with this new transition to the new brokerage in the middle of the pandemic, which it takes a lot of guts. So congratulations on that. How is it working with somebody like him? And how do you build yourself, like your personal brand when you are in a team like the Sir Hunting?

Right. Yeah, that's actually a good question. Like I said, Ryan just is nonstop, which is a huge motivator. And I think, you know, he just always, he just always says the right thing.

Like, yes, this is a pandemic. You know, people are struggling, but like he always kept the team motivated. You know, we would do weekly meetings throughout quarantine and we were all over the country. We were all split up, but he like kept you motivated, like, you know, keep things going, keep in contact with your clients over quarantine.

And I really just feel like listening to him and having him as a mentor. Like, I'm having my best year ever. My summer for me has been the best like three to six months I've ever had just because he keeps, and you know, you have to motivate yourself as well, which I feel like that's what I'm doing. Like, once someone's like, do this, do this, like, just do it, you can tell people about all the time and they won't do it.

Like he says, like, you can tell someone to get up at, you know, five 30 every morning, do everything before that work starts at seven, reach out to so many clients a day and people are like, yeah, I'll do it. And then they don't like they don't follow up and do it. So I think that's a thing. This is really the commitment.

Yes. Yeah. We use the right yourself with superstars. I mean, it gives you that motivation.

They like you want to do better. So I think that's great. But Talia, let me ask you because you obviously are super focused now in this new show and the media, it's, I think, becoming the most relevant thing when it comes to real estate these days. So how important has it been for you, the show in general, into the real estate?

I think it's huge. Like you kind of hit on it when you said, you know, media and outreach in terms of social media and media in general is like big for real estate. Like not everyone is online looking up listings on an MLS system. You know, we've sold properties through Instagram.

Ryan's sold properties through his blog. Like, I just like that's so huge that people need to be able to adapt to like what's next in terms of real estate. Like, they're not going to the New York Times and reading, you know, the classified ads of what's for sale. So you really have to be able to adapt to these new ways.

And like, I think YouTube is huge. Obviously, like, I think LinkedIn is something that's huge. Instagram, like I think you have to just be able to adapt to those things. Videos, like everyone's doing, because of quarantine and COVID, everyone's doing 3D videos, which a lot of things have sold.

Like unseen people just doing like walk through 3D videos. So I think that's like the next day is a thing. That's a good one. What do you think about TikTok?

Um, that's funny. Actually over quarantine, I started a TikTok page and my mom is on here listening too. And we are great TikTok dancers. So everyone should start TikTok.

Oh my God, my mom is awesome. Yeah. Um, I, yeah, I don't, uh, I'm not 100% into it or get it, but I know it's huge and people do great with it. Um, I need to, I guess, learn more about it.

I know there's like, all these algorithms that are like crazy to me, but it's fun. I like to do it. I can definitely see you getting like lost in the rabbit hole, looking at TikToks. Do you have it?

God, yes. I have my personal ticket, which, you know, I try to use it here and there, but I use it more for, I guess, either use the content or the content uses you. So I try to be the one that goes with that objective. And I said, all this time, you're like, oh my God, 30 minutes and I'm just going to.

Oh my gosh, it's crazy. Like you have to set a timer. Yeah. Yeah.

But I got to tell you something. We have actually TikTok with our account with Superloxel group. And it's so funny because one of the videos, you know, we don't get that many views and they don't decide. Boom.

Over half a million views in one video. I do. No, no, why? Like, yes, it's in the porcet sign building.

It's a nice unit, but I guess the timing, the music. That's the thing. Like you never get it. We've had a few where we do, my mom and I will do dances and it'll blow up, not half a million, but it'll blow up.

And then other ones get like two views. I'm like, that's what I want. It's very important to stay up to date with the new platforms that are coming up because also the regular ones, like Instagram, pulling up the reels. LinkedIn now started to do the stories.

Do you see that? Yeah. Yeah. That's why I still keep saying it on LinkedIn.

Get a TikTok. Oh my gosh, there's so much to do. Oh my God. There's so much.

That's why I believe that when you build your business around the media concept, you're going to be set up for success. But what's the hardest part? Yeah, what's the hardest part? That's a good question of my life.

Real estate. I think for me, I try to do it all and I need to be able to like trust people and delegate my work because I'm getting busy and Ryan and I've had this talk where he used to do it all too. And he had to learn to trust people and now he has a great team and he has great team members and we work really well together. So I think that's a huge thing that I need to work with.

And we had this talk like two years ago, Ryan and I sat down and I was like, you're going to need to start trusting people and delegating. So when I go to Loomer, when I want to take breaks, I don't feel that panic. I was going to say, if you want to go to Loom, you need to delegate. I think you guys are building.

It's beautiful. I'm a huge fan. So I hope that you guys will continue going in that direction. And hey, when you come to Miami, we'll do some stuff together for sure.

So you were just in Spain. So I'm in Spain lover as well. You told me that. So next time we'll erase something for sure.

But one thing I wanted to ask you, this is something that I ask every guest that comes to this SOTV. Especially you. No, I mean, it's a good question. What is luxury to you?

I mean, you're surrounded by homongous homes that are being sold for so much money, but luxury is a term that it's so different for everybody. For some people in style and lifestyle. What is it to you? I think of it like a lifestyle.

Yeah, I think of when you say luxury, I think of a specific type of person. And I'm having nice luxury cars, luxury properties, multiple properties, having a luxurious life of travel and having time, working hard, but also having some passive income where they have time to be able to relax and live a luxurious life. I think it's a full body, a full scope. It's not just having all of these things, but also being able to enjoy your time and enjoy the luxurious things that you have.

Going to Tulum. I'm traveling the world, which I like to do. I do appreciate your time. I know that you're also with work and is there any recommendation or giveaway that you can share with us?

I mean, whatever it is in regards to building your business among the media or lifestyle related, what will it be? I would say to be persistent and just to follow up with people if you think that you don't have experience or you're not up to par with someone. I would just always say reach out to someone if you need help and try to help people out in whatever industry you're in. If you want to get to the top, you have to be able to put yourself out there and ask for help or ask for tips for things and just be persistent.

And just keep trying. That's right with Ryan. The first time I reached out to him, he never responded. So I just kept following up and I finally got an answer from him and just to be competent in yourself and persistent.

Great. I love that. So, those are great insights. I really appreciate your time.

Keep up the good work. Thanks for watching. I know you put in the comments and in the caption everything about exactly, you know, everybody to subscribe going there. What can they find you?

Yes, we might need you. Season two. Hey, you need to recall one of those episodes in Miami. We'll get you some of the properties.

Okay, feel. Okay. Talia, enjoy it. See you soon.
