Sligo Abbey set to host events to mark Heritage Week

Sligo Abbey is set to host a number of events to mark heritage week. Organised by the Heritage Council, National Heritage Week has become one of Ireland's largest cultural event - its running Saturday August 16th - Sunday 24th. Over 100 events are taking place nationwide. Both Sligo Abbey and Donegal Castle are hosting a Local Link to the Past, where people can use their local link ticket to gain free entry to sites on the Local Link network. Entry is also free to Sligo Abbey for under 18s for the month of August. Andrew Whitefield, Head Guide at Sligo Abbey has been outlining what's in store for Heritage Week:
