Sligo & Leitrim projects to benefit from Healthy Ireland fund

Two projects in the Sligo Leitrim area have been successful under the Healthy Ireland fund for outdoor swimming facilities, which was announced today. The local project will share in a national fund of €330,000 which continues to assist local authorities in their quest to upgrade many of their outdoor swimming pools and facilities.  In Sligo, Dunmoran Strand and Mullaghmore Beaches has secured funding for the installation of two concrete changing shelters with seating, one concrete shower unit, and associated civil works to the grant value of €25,000.  13,000 euro has been allocated to Leitrim County Council and Leitrim Sports Partnership for development works at Cleighran More Pier, Ballinaglera.   Sligo Leitrim Deputy says the funding is aimed at encouraging more people to enjoy the benefits of outdoor swimming
