Sligo-Leitrim TD fearful of government support for Mercosur deal

A Sligo Leitrim TD says he is fearful that the government could decide to support the Mercosur deal.The Government has confirmed that they will vote against the deal, which is set to be ratified at the European Council tomorrow.There are fears that the deal would distort key agricultural markets if EU farmers had to compete with lower-cost South American beef.The Sinn Fein Agricultural Spokesperson says the fact that Ireland are taking up the presidency of the EU will influence their decision:
