Sligo TD says local infrastructure upgrades stand a better chance of progressing with the absence of the Green Party from Government.

A Sligo Leitrim TD has expressed his confidence that the future of major infrastructure projects in the North West stand a better chance of progressing in the absence of the Green Party from the next Government. With a programme for Government currently being thrashed out between Fianna Fail, Fine Gael and independents, there is interest in relation to the stance being taken on infrastructure projects such as road upgrades like in the N17 in Sligo. Local Fine Gael TD Frank Feighan that there is an appetite to deliver projects such as the N17 and N4 upgrades in the programme for Government. Deputy Feighan says he is confident that any Independent TD's that will end up supporting the government will also be in favour of the delivery of enhanced infrastructure for the North West.
