Sligo Way Upgrade Underway: €200K Boost to Unlock Hidden Gem’s Potential

Work has begun on major upgrades to the Sligo Way, with €200,000 in funding secured to improve a 2.8km stretch between Union Wood and Slishwood.The trail is one of Sligo's hidden gems, will see widened paths, new surfacing, and better access.The upgrades include a repaired 500m section and plans for a new viewing area overlooking Lough Lumann.Cllr Walsh says he's delighted the work has begun and he'll continue to push for further improvements, linking nearby villages like Collooney and Ballygawley to the trail.
