It's been a minute, so Johnathon and Levi go it alone for a special two-hander on Lucio Fulci's 1979 gut-muncher Zombie — a.k.a. Zombi 2, a.k.a. Zombie Flesh Eaters, a.k.a. an unofficial Dawn of the Dead sequel that Italian producers cheerfully stole the title for because who's going to sue from across an ocean. What was supposed to be Levi's formal speech crowning Johnathon the undisputed tastemaster of '70s and '80s horror instead turns into Levi's unprepared love letter to the film. Along the way: the greatest zombie-vs-shark scene ever committed to celluloid (it's Shark Month, so it counts), Fabio Frizzi's hypnotic synth score that everyone mistakes for Goblin, the ethics of Italian ADR, and a spirited defense of slow zombies as God intended.
