AN LA HOLIDAY ON THE SPECTRUM: AUTISTIC PERFORMERS DAZZLE TINSEL TOWN Autistic performing artists outshine the brightest of decorative lights during this particular holiday season in Los Angeles. SMALL TALK covers some of the spectacle with special guests from these West Coast local live shows. Small Talk Podcast is a monthly talk show devoted to those in the entertainment industry with co-hosts Chris Pomay & Marlene Sharp. Jason Weissbrod has been an independent filmmaker for 30 years in Los Angeles. His directing credits include the award winning short film "Boys Don't Wear Dresses" about a transgender autistic individual's search to find love. Other credits include "Fuzzy Connections", "Spectrum League", "Hands", "The Benchwarm-Nerds!" and more! Jason co-founded Spectrum Laboratory in 2015, a nonprofit that creates original works of film, music and animation with autistic, neurodiverse and disabled artists. (www.speclabs.org). Garth Herberg is an LA-based musician, voice actor, and entrepreneur who co-founded Spectrum Laboratory with Jason Weissbrod. He serves as head of the Spec Labs music division. He also owns and manages Hollywood recording studio The Anything Box. Based in New York City, Talia Eapen is Director of Program Operations for Epic Players Inclusion Company. EPIC Players is a neuro-inclusive theater company that empowers neurodivergent (i.e., on the autism spectrum) and disabled artists by providing free performing arts classes, professional development, and paid performance opportunities in New York City and Los Angeles, aiming to create a supportive space where all artists can thrive and gain access to the theater industry. The "EPIC" stands for Empower, Perform, Include, Create, fostering a community that includes both neurodivergent and neurotypical individuals (https://www.epicplayersnyc.org/).Chelsea Darnell, and she is an autistic actor who appears in the Epic Players holiday show ONCE UPON A CABARET.
