In Taylor, Texas, the conflict is especially sharp. Land donated in 1999 for a public park later changed hands and was sold for $10 million dollars to a data center developer. The planned billion-dollar facility will sit right next to a residential neighborhood. Longtime resident Pamela Griffin is leading the fight, organizing neighbors and challenging the project in court.
