HR 5050 turns 25 years old today! On Oct. 25, 1988, President Ronald Regan signed HR 5050 into law. Long overdue, the legislation finally allowed women business owners to get credit in their own names without a male co-signor, established the National Women's Business Council - a direct link to the President and Congress on legislative issues, created the Women's Business Centers, and mandated that women-owned businesses be counted in the census.
