Smoke Alert and Cooling Down | Spokane News

Smoke from two massive wildfires—the Sinlahekin and Little Giant fires—is blanketing the region, with both burning over 150,000 acres and sending haze northeast for days. Two major smoke pushes are forecast: late Thursday into Friday, then Friday night through Saturday morning. But relief is on the way: a cold front is cooling temps to the low 70s by Sunday, with chilly nights in the high 40s. Winds will pick up Friday, and while next week may start slightly warmer, another cooldown looms—perfect for anyone tired of triple-digit heat.
