So after yes, what's next? This is the daily Startles podcast with Anthony and Giman. The two kinds of yeses and the different applications of both permission and promise. Allowing something and fulfilling another thing.
Let's understand both and respond even better in the coming years of our lives. Do I hear yes? Richard Branson if someone offers you an amazing opportunity but you are not sure you can do it, say yes. Then learn how to do it later.

Not much between or outside of that. If I permitted something, what's next? Here we go. We allow it.
We give access to it. In fact, if needed, we should support it, monitor it with our teenage kids still in school, ask for permission to enter show business. That's just one. And we gave our permission.
Our yes. We could have just left it at reminding them of their school requirements, right? Home chores and then balance it. It's up to them to figure things out in their chosen extracurriculars.
But to leave them on their own and make them take all the pressure. Easily misunderstood as making them pay the price for what we allowed. The consequences of what we permitted. How absurd is that?
I have to admit. Think about this. Have you done this? I have given permission many times in the past.
Not because I really meant it, but because I just had to get it over with. Perhaps I was too busy, too annoyed. I'm staying lazy, right? To reason out.
So it was a yes for me, but my heart wasn't in it. A yes uttered when it was really a no within no. Fair Solana would say it. So after permission it should be access, understanding, support.
Now if it was a promise, that's a second scenario. Then it's not just a matter of responsibility or obligation. It's accountability. If you haven't given my permission, calls for giving access, support, let's say even prayer.
My promise. Here we go. This is the difference necessitates fulfilling my word. Go in Mo, delivering on my commitment, doing what I said I would do.
Perhaps another verse will bring the idea of saying yes and the right kind of follow through closer to home than the Golden Rule. You know this in Luke 6:31 do unto others as you will have others do unto you. You would wish for access, right? Or even just minimum support when someone gives you permission.
And most certainly you would hope for fulfillment and delivery after a committed promise buying expectation versus delivery. It's sad when one clearly sees no intent right from someone to fulfill a promise in the future as it was just perhaps made to get it over with in the present. It sounded so good then. Where is the follow through now?
So be mindful. Elections are coming in 2022. Thank God for Paul's reminder. In 2 Corinthians 1:24 and I quote, all the promises of God find their yes in Him.
