So how to redirect at this point in my life? This is the day to serve his blood gas with Anthony, I'm eating it. Well, you're going to want it, right? Because somebody else can motivate you, somebody can instill fear in you, somebody can demand and force you, somebody may offer a reward, an incentive for you, but in the end, unless you decide to redirect whatever path, whatever direction you have in life, it just won't happen.
I recall the first time I trained with the professionals for a triathlon. I was invited by my clients and now their friends, Fernando Zobel, of the Ayala group and Frederi Tengsu of Alaska to join a triathlon. I said, yes, and I started running, swimming, and I realized I was biking, and I said, yes, we don't need to support, you know, with three events. That's why it's called triathlon.
And then they said, Anthony, why don't you join us? You know, one of these days, you know, just let's train together, I said, sure. And we went to the actual venue, at least the place that was in Subik and along the pole. And I biked with them.
And that's when I realized that I had a problem. Well, what did I get myself into? Thank God I didn't quit, you know. I did, however, repent from the manner of training that I was taking.
In a sense, I redirected and said, gosh, this intensity, you know, is new to me. And not just the intensity, but the technique, the science, the science behind each of those three sports. So how to redirect? You must want it.
And sometimes, you know, it takes an event, an experience, unexpected attack that wakes you up, what you call a wake up call. Big, big, big, big, big, big, big, big. So I said, it's a big thing. But the result can be encouraging, because of the decision to redirect.
Can I just clarify this? You have permission, as I have, to change your mind. You have permission to change your mind. Your mind that brings thoughts, enhances feelings, results to actions, and end conclusions.
Tonight, before my daughter, Serana, slept, she came to me and said that, is it OK if I remind you what you said before that we got to practice WJD? You're right, Serana. Well, can you apologize to Atte for the way you raised your voice? I think you screamed at her.
I had a major disagreement with one of my daughters. And this was the holy spirit in the flesh, telling me to redirect. And it's tough, right, when God uses a 10-year-old. Actually, it's tougher when he uses someone you don't like.
What is your peg? When it comes to, as we said yesterday, your personal life. What is your peg when it comes to your relational life? What is your peg when it comes to your professional life?
The word profession is connected to standards, because professionals live by the standards of their particular profession. And setting a standard or a peg in each area of your life will help you establish the right direction. I still have this picture, for example, my mind right now from Instagram of a dear friend who's core physical core. I absolutely envy.
He is my peg for what I got to do with my tummy. So there is the emotional peg, right? Emotional maturity peg. There is the mental health, stability peg.
There is the physical health attainment peg. What is your peg? Your peg helps you to redirect, as you race the level of expectation within you. Who is your peg?
In Acts 13, 36, I believe, David was described as a man who rested, who slept, who passed away only after he fulfilled God's purpose in his generation. That, for me, would be one of my pegs for my own life. And every day, my small actions, I hope, are moving towards that direction, that peg that ultimately I hope I will accomplish in my life. Do many things, right, around you, just look to many things of great potential who never actually experience fulfillment.
I recall this study of SUVs, for example, being used in the Metropolis, that 95% of the SUVs being used in Metro Manila. Key cities like New York, for example, or London, right? Or Rio de Janeiro. You know, they do not actually fulfill their supposed purpose in their design in an SUV, as a sport utility vehicle.
They're not used for sports, right? And they're not used for rough terrain. They're not used for flooded situations. When you think about it, is the very purpose of an SUV, for water, for rough terrain, for sport, none of that.
None of that is ever experienced by these SUVs. If only they had souls, we'd probably hear them speak, right, of how disappointed they are, that they were never allowed to live out their purposes in life. W, WJD, what would Jesus do? If I haven't explained yet, what that meant.
And that was what Solana was reminding me of. I said that, I remember that acronym that you made, I mean, those keywords that you created, I didn't create it, Solana. I pass it on to you. But that song, that that would sing, I did.
So for years, before they slept, perhaps we should revive it, right? I'd sing to them, my kids, WJD, what would Jesus do? What would Jesus do? W, W, JD, what would Jesus do?
What am I to do? What am I to do? What am I to do? If I knew, what would Jesus do?
How to redirect? What is your pick? Who is your pick? Who is your source of life?
Because it's not just setting the direction. It's also sourcing the power to pursue the direction. In Psalm 87, David says that all my springs are in you. That SUV needs to be gas stopped, right?
All my springs are in you. What is the source of your springs in your life? I pray, and I quote Confucius here as we close this time together, wherever you go, go with all your heart.
