'So important' for same-sex couples to have same parental rights as 'everybody else'

from Manx Newscast

A mother who has been campaigning for nearly a decade to have full parental rights for same-sex couples has welcomed a planned overhaul of Manx legislation. Sue Harper has two children with her partner Sara but due to existing laws only Sue’s name is listed on their birth certificates. That could change if MLC Tanya August-Hanson’s Private Members Bill on human fertilisation, embryology and legal parentage and surrogacy arrangements is successful. Sue told Manx Radio's Christian Jones, the last ten years have been full of broken promises from politicians.
