South Carolina recently became the fastest-growing state in the nation by percentage, fueled by a relentless surge in domestic migration that shows no signs of slowing. Between 2024 and 2025 alone, the state added nearly 80,000 new residents, as people flocked to the Palmetto State for its lower cost of living, favorable tax policies for retirees, and a thriving job market in sectors like advanced manufacturing and tech. While growth has tempered slightly from its pandemic-era peak, the state is still projected to add another million residents by 2042, with areas like Horry County and the Upstate region braced for long-term expansion that will continue to reshape the state's infrastructure and housing markets. Because you got to remember what they're running away from, right? You got to remember what they're wanting or what they're running to. See, they're coming to us because Trump won here. 00:31 and according to an exclusive analysis by Issues and Insights. Well... 00:40 Blue states are losing population of red states and have been for many years and but issues and insights want to go deeper. So they use the latest census data on migration between counties and compared that with how these counties voted in the past three presidential elections. And what they found out was that millions aren't just moving out of blue states. They're moving out of blue counties within states. Trump won 2,589 counties in each of the past three elections. 01:11 From 2020 to 2025, those counties gained 5.4 million people due to net migration, which measures how many people move into and out of an area. The 433 counties where Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris carried the day saw a net loss of 5.43 million people. 01:33 You're probably asking how could Trump win 2600 counties in all three elections and lose to Joe Biden? Well, he didn't lose, he was stolen. 01:45 The 121 counties in which Trump won at least one of the past three elections saw a net gain of 29,000 people over those years. 01:55 and they've been tracking this for years. 02:00 In 2023, they found that Biden voting counties had lost 2.6 million people from 2020 to 2022. 02:11 They did the analysis again into 2024 and the number hits well to 3.7 million. 02:19 And the latest data show that of the 10 counties with the biggest gains in population, only one was deep blue. 02:32 Maricopa County went for Biden in 2020, as did Williamson County, Texas. But the 10 counties with the biggest loss of population from 2020 to 2025 were all heavily Democratic and they voted for Hillary Clinton, Biden and Harris. Miami-Dade flipped into the Trump camp in 2020. 02:54 So the big winners. The biggest winner was Collin County, Texas. Followed by Polk County, Florida, Montgomery County, Texas, Pasco County, Florida, Denton County, Texas, Williamson County, Texas, Pinal County, Arizona, Maricopa County, Arizona, Fort Bend County, Texas, and Lee County, Florida. The losers. Well, the biggest loser there was L.A. 03:25 They lost almost 700,000 people. Followed by Cook County where Chicago is, followed by Kings County, followed by Miami-Dade. 03:35 Of the 50 counties with the biggest net gain of population, all but four voted for Trump in the past three elections. Of the 50 counties with the biggest losses due to net migration, all but five are solid blue. 03:49 Now the five Florida counties where Trump lost in his last three elections bids lost 150,000 people due to net migration over the past five years. And that is in a state that saw an overall net gain of 890,000. 04:06 The three heavily Democratic counties in Tennessee lost more than 81,000 people while the state overall gained 293,000. Only five counties in Utah lost population from 2020 to 2025. Three of them voted for Biden and Harris. 04:23 On the other end of the spectrum, California lost almost 1.7 million people to net migration. But the few counties that consistently voted for Trump saw a slight gain of 3,024. 04:39 New Jersey's seven solidly pro-Trump counties gained 25,000 people. Virginia's blue counties lost 160,000. 04:54 So there's a seismic shift going on. 04:59 And we keep hearing about how unpopular Trump and his policies are. uh 05:06 And that might be what people are telling pollsters, but their own actions, which is, you know, picking up and moving to a new county or a different state speak much louder. 05:17 Most people, millions of people, would rather live with people like you and me than with people that vote for the likes of Kamala Ha ...
