Even without addressing some of the vilest anti-Semitic tropes, there is definitely something to be said about the tremendous financial success Jewish people seem to encounter everywhere. More than 40% of Nobel Prize winners in Economics are Jewish. 30% of the 20 wealthiest individuals in the world are Jewish. Three out of four of the recent Fed chairpersons are Jewish. So, what’s with Jews and money? This question is particularly relevant as we look at this week’s Parsha and we see a mitzvah, whereby the Jews were commanded to despoil Egypt prior to their exodus.
