Soccer (Tournaments) Explain the World
from Life Beyond the Briefs · host Brian Glass
I spent this weekend coaching my oldest son's Allstar team in a pre-Thanksgiving tournament and came back with four parallels between soccer and business/life.(1) The rules don't matter. What matters is that you understand them and use them to strategize.(2) The most important thing you can do is to get the right people on your team. The second most important is to find them the right seat.(3) When we feel out of control, we look for external things to blame. Looking internally for changes you can make helps to maintain your own feeling of control on the situation.(4) There is almost certainly some technology out there that you can leverage to create more time freedom for yourself and remove yourself from the "doing" of the work.____________________________________Brian Glass is a nationally recognized personal injury lawyer in Fairfax, Virginia.
