Brian Nickerson is the Co-Founder and CEO of MagicLinks, an affiliate marketing tool that helps content creators add product links to their videos. Prior to starting MagicLinks, Brian worked at Yahoo! and Internet Brands before setting out on his own to launch Chippmunk, an online savings search engine designed to reinvent the world of couponing. In this episode, we discuss a number of technical challenges related to affiliate marketing, including multi-touch attribution, cookie duration, and fraud prevention. Brian shares how MagicLinks approached the chicken and egg problem of building a two-sided marketplace by starting small and focusing on a few key verticals, and he offers his predictions for online video in 2017.
