Social Media, Climate Change Fueled a Surge of Moroccan Migrants

Upwards of 80,000 people have been reported making the treacherous crossing to Cueta, Spain from Morocco. Ceuta is a main gateway from North Africa to Europe and many of the migrants were fleeing persecution, climate change, or economic insecurity. To make sense of the factors driving the migrants and the online misinformation following their arrival, host Esty Dinur is joined by Alejandro Martin Rodriguez and Sarah Yerkes of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
