Amanda is committed to addressing issues of inequality and power and she believes that education is a powerful motor for social change. This has led to her work in public engagement. While getting her Ph.D., Amanda received a fellowship with Rackham where she supported the development of Rackham's Program in Public Scholarship. She also worked on a massive online open course entitled Community Engagement: Collaborating for Change. Amanda now works at the Ginsberg Center as their assistant director for community partnerships. In this role, she stewards and facilitates partnerships between the university, its students, and the community.
