Socio-Legal History of Child Migration to the United States - Dra. Ivón Padilla-Rodríguez

Dra. Ivón Padilla-Rodríguez is an alumna from the University of Nevada, Reno. She currently works at the University of Illinois Chicago where she specializes in child migration to the United States. Dra. Padilla-Rodríguez is currently working on a book manuscript which has given her the opportunity to collaborate with organizations in both the United States and Mexico. Through her in-depth research she has found records, long-neglected, about the treatment of migrant families upon arriving to the U.S. and she explores concepts such as the "school-to-deportation" pipeline and how this is tied to a person's "alienage" in the United States.
