Booklet: https://tinyurl.com/48newmsj -- Before the sun Six AM Life undone Start again Dark and cold By the creek Brave and bold Feeling weak Time is a bird Flies away Unseen word Box in grey Forms like hills Near the screen Chasing pills Rush unseen Close my eyes Slow heart beat Morning skies No deceit! Just be still Just let it be Cold river water flowing free! The river stones don't mind the race Just resting in their quiet place! Just be still Just let it be The river stones The river sea! Sun comes out Hits my face Cosmic spark Quiet grace Open wide Look down low Mud inside Sneakers go Swept downstream Floating fast Gone at last My crazy dance Among the reeds My fishing rod A broken branch The stones just sit They never try To stand right up Is why they lie! Just be still Just let it be Let it be! The river took my shoes from me! Walking home in soggy socks In the cold I learned the wisdom of the rocks! Lie right down Don't run the race Just curl right back In bed’s embrace! Soggy socks!
