Picture this: I’ve been binge-watching Netflix and gaining an additional 15 pounds while sparring with the SNKRS app. How the hell did I get here? Quarantine. After the panini struck, I couldn’t do most of my favorite things in NYC: try new dive bars and tacos across the boroughs, master the art of grabbing a drink without ever buying one, and finessing my way into celebrity parties. So what I do? Start a podcast. Welcome to Sneakers Have Spirits, Too. Since high school, I’ve been a sneaker connoisseur. Each box lined up against the wall tells a different story - adventures chock full of surprise names and liquor you’ve never heard of. Hey but I promise, I’m no alcoholic. Alcoholics go to meetings, I’m a spiritualist. I drink. I two step. I go home and sleep. All while trying not to crease my sneakers. And speaking of which - I have a few friends that feel the same way and they’re willing to share their adventures, spirits, and a little bit of sole. Get it? Sneakers? Soles? Ha. I’ll be in the car. What started out as an art project, where I was simply taking photos of shoes, and pairing them bottles of alcohol is now a full-fledged listening party.
