But the parks also protect vast prairies, oak woodlands, and nearly 40 miles of wild coastline, all of which support a rich mosaic of wildlife diversity and cultural traditions. Indeed, more than parks, Redwood is also designated a World Heritage Site and International Biosphere Reserve. Join park rangers from the National Park Service and California State Parks as we explore this special place. Wind in the Willows (Version 6), The by Kenneth Grahame (1859 - 1932) LibriVox The Wind in the Willows is a classic children's book--enjoyed by all ages!--by British novelist Kenneth Grahame, first published in 1908. Begun as letters to his 7-year-old son Alistair and later developed into a novel, it tells the adventures of animals Mole, Rat, and Toad, who dwell, along with Badger, Otter, and other animals, in the riverbank, fields, and woodlands of the English countryside. Best friends Mole and Rat, along with Badger, are continually rescuing Toad from his scrapes. An encounter with nature god Pan lends a special magic to this tale.In 2011, I recorded this delightful reading by my friend Sarbaga Falk. We made presents of the recordings for Sarbaga’s family and our friends and their children and grandchildren; and had it in mind to put it on LibriVox. Shortly after we recorded Wind in the Willows, Sarbaga was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s, which worsened until she passed away in February 2020.Sarbaga loved tales, jokes, and storie Bayside Woodland Bayside Woodland Bayside Woodland, based in evangelical Christianity, began as “The Gathering” in 2003, originally meeting in the homes of members. Under the leadership of founding pastor, John Withem, The Gathering grew and eventually entered into an agreement with the Woodland School District to rent Pioneer High School, where we meet today. In 2006, The Gathering made a strategic choice to join the Bayside Family of Churches and changed our name to Bayside Church of Woodland. This partnership affiliated us with 10 Bayside Churches in the greater Sacramento region. Although the closeness of this affiliation has loosened over the years, the Bayside churches continue to partner from time to time in mission, giving, and other strategic endeavors. The legacy of Bayside Woodland is directly connected to the vision and passion of founding pastor, John Withem. In February 2012, John was diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer; and after a courageous and well-fought battle, he went home to be with his Savior in
