from Self-Created · host Self-Created Podcast
Some days you're the bird. Others, you're the worm. https://tim.blog/2014/12/09/future-crimes/ https://securethoughts.com/how-to-avoid-and-recover-from-a-phishing-scam/ Jernell’s Tips: 1. Take a deep breathe and pause. 2. Try to remove emotions and think logically. If not, find someone that you trust to help walk you through the conversation. Don't be afraid to ask for help. 3. Listen to your intuition/gut. Do not ignore any red flags or things that don't sit well. 4. Hang up and call your bank directly. If you feel the customer service person is asking questions out of the ordinary, hang up & call fraud line to your bank. 5. Don't have your money in one location. Have multiple accounts with different banks that you can access. 6. Setup different types of accounts within the bank so you can move money when necessary. This saved me because my money was dispersed between my multiple accounts. 7. Have your paycheck direct deposit to different account and even banks. 8. Use multi-factoring authorization and authentication on your accounts. 9. YOUR BANK WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD. If the associate asks for it, hang up. 10.
