EN/SÖLNA DISCOVERS MEMORIES OF ANMESIAC EP. The artist from Zaragoza, Miguel Arrieta, now recovers his project Sölna and presents his new work, on the label No Where Records, with which he returns to music through an emotional and melodic album. From Menorca, we receive Memories of Amnesiac, a new EP signed by Sölna. Sölna, a sound project of Miguel Arrieta -better known for his techno and trance side- which originated in 2011. After seven years of impasse this EP was conceived from Menorca, during the months of pandemic, which is precisely when its author feels happy again composing music after a time certainly away from that feeling due to different vicissitudes of his personal and professional life. AN OPEN, FREE, COLLABORATIVE PROJECT... From this situation Memories of an Amnesiac is born, because for Miguel Arrieta these years of absence are like an amnesia. And it is at this point when he decides to resume his project Sölna, without being very clear about where he is going to go stylistically speaking. But what we do know for sure is that, today, it is a totally open project that keeps its doors wide open in terms of musical styles. Although there are styles, such as breaks and acid sounds, in which it is evident that he feels very comfortable. Another thing that is clear to Sölna is that collaborations are as necessary as they are desirable, and in fact there are upcoming productions for Hazlacama and Paw Print, both for Nowhere Records. The entire EP are tracks composed between 2011 and 2020 and subsequently compiled in 2021. Although they date from different eras there is a nexus between them all, resulting in an EP that is emotional and melodic, yet restrained at the same time. . ES/ Desde ,Zaragoza recibimos ’Memories of Amnesiac’, un nuevo EP que firma Sölna, un proyecto sonoro de Miguel Arrieta -más conocido por su faceta techno y trance- que tuvo su origen en 2011. Tras siete años de impasse este EP fue ideado desde Menorca, durante los meses de pandemia que es, precisamente, cuando su autor siente que vuelve a ser feliz componiendo música tras un tiempo ciertamente alejado de dicha sensación por diferentes avatares de su vida personal y profesional. UN PROYECTO ABIERTO, LIBRE, COLABORATIVO… De dicha situación nace ‘Memories of an Amnesiac’ ya que para Miguel Arrieta estos años de ausencia son como una amnesia. Y es en este punto cuando decide retomar su proyecto Sölna, sin tener muy claro hacia dónde va a ir estilísticamente hablando. Pero de lo que sí tenemos certeza es de que, hoy por hoy, es un proyecto totalmente abierto que mantiene sus puertas de par en par en cuanto a estilos musicales. Aunque hay estilos, como los breaks y los sonidos ácidos, en los que es evidente que se siente muy a gusto. Otra de las cosas que tiene claro para Sölna es que es las colaboraciones son tan necesarias, como apetecibles y de hecho se avecinan producciones para Hazlacama y Paw Print, ambas para No where Records. Todo el EP son temas compuestos entre el 2011 y el 2020 y posteriormente recopilados en 2021. Aunque datan de distintas épocas existe un nexo entre todos, que da lugar a un EP emocional y melódico, pero contenido a la vez. ‘MEMORIES OF ANMESIAC’, En 2021 retomó su actividad y volvió a publicar tanto como Sölna como Miguel Arrieta (nombre utilizado en su primer proyecto musical). Sus amplias influencias se reflejan en su eclecticismo a la hora de componer y producir. Sölna está ahora abierto a los proyectos que están por venir tras unos años de parón.
